ONCE UPON A DUKE, a Regency by Sandra Masters, release date July 24, 2015 by The Wild Rose Press.

From a humble beginning in Newark, N.J., a short stay at a convent in Morristown, N.J.  at the age of fourteen, retiring from a fantastic career for a play broadcasting company in Carlsbad, California, to the rural foothills of the Sierras of Yosemite National Park, I traded in the Board Rooms for the Ballrooms of the Regency period 1800's and never looked back. Wrote my first book at the age of fifteen and since then I have always traveled with pen and notebook. It has been the journey of ten thousand miles with a few steps left to go. It was a pleasure to leave the corporate world behind decades later.

I also have contemporaries in my pipeline. That said, I live to write. Romance is at best a gift and my passion is the regency period. Admittedly, I'd prefer to be the sister of a duke or an earl...perhaps even a princess? Or the other endless possibilities of a widow. Hmm.? Not being able to time travel, I now write about what I love and it has been worth every headache and heartache.

ONCE UPON A DUKE is the first book in my DUKE series. I've been blessed with a great content editor, Cindy Davis, and a lot of helpful The Wild Rose Press staff. For a new author, it was nothing I expected, but everything I dreamed.

Our RWA Yosemite Romance Writers hosted Margie Lawson on Character Development and Edits, etc, this past February. We all came away wowed. One of our own just returned from her immersion class and stated it has changed the way she writes.

I live with my husband, Ron, who is my plotster and our two dogs, Silky Houdini and Sophie Chiquita. Most of the time I'm writing, but when I'm not, I still take classes, cook way too much Italian food for friends and family. And...I love bears of all kinds and prefer to collect them in paintings and wood carvings.
